About this Talk
For many who didn't grow up on a farm or homestead, the "worst" part of Thanksgiving is the fact that the turkey at some point was killed. Our culture largely deals with this truth in one of two ways:
1) By prentending that slaughter doesn't exist
2) By sensationalizing slaughter through grainy videos online
We're going with option number three, which is to talk to two of the leading experts in American agriculture on how to process poultry, and how they do it with love and respect with the animal. We'll also touch on ways in which to include family and friends into the slaughter process, a sacred knowledge which has allowed our species to eat healthy meat for millenia.
